description

The dolmen of Friedrichsruhe, as a transverse lying in the Hünenbett (schematic representation on the right - left a parallel lying)

The large stone grave of the extended dolmen type lies in an approximately 60 m long, approximately northeast-southwest oriented trapezoidal barn bed with guard stones at the wider end. It originated between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC as a plant of the funnel beaker culture (TBK). “Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development ”.

In the north-eastern part, the small, slightly inclined and transverse (transverse) chamber is about 1.4 m high, 4.0 m long and 2.0 m wide. One of the original two capstones is still on. The seven bearing stones, some of which are curiously arranged, and the somewhat recessed chamber are in situ . The only partially preserved access on the west side, made of slabs, is slightly higher, at ground level. Even if more than half of the stones of the slightly trapezoidal 4.0 by 3.5 m wide border are missing, the 41 remaining stones (including a guard stone) mark the expansion quite well.

In addition to human bones (including two skulls) and charcoal , eight shards, two amphorae, an amber bead and a collar bottle were found.

The large stone graves of Frauenmark are located nearby .
