Galitorte dolmen

The dolmen of Galitorte (also called Lou Cibournié in French or Lo Sibornièr in Occitan ) is a simple dolmen northeast of Buzeins in the Aveyron department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

It stands at the eastern end of a long oval hill. The chamber consists of two side panels, each about 4.0 meters long and 2.0 meters high. The capstone is slightly offset, but is shorter than the east-facing chamber. The dolmens in the Aveyron often occur in groups and 92% of all dolmens are made of limestone slabs .

The dolmen was classified as a Monument historique in 1889 .

Nearby are the Sirandels dolmen, the five Surguières dolmens and the two Buzareingues.
