Kerhuen Dolmen

The Kerhuen dolmen (also known as Er Mané) are located in Belz , near the mouth of the Étel in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France . They are the remains of two passage dolmen ( French dolmen à couloir ). In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

description

Dolmen 1 is a low corridor dolmen with an oval chamber approximately 4.0 × 3.0 meters. The capstone lies on several of the eight bearing stones, but has slipped. The remains of the corridor with a preserved capstone are about 3.0 meters long. A road cut through the megalithic complex , which could have been longer.

Only 40 meters south of Dolmen 1 are the remains of the other chamber under a large oak. It was probably similar to the northern one, but has no capstones and the remains are just an oval of blocks with a few gang stones.

Less than a hundred years ago the remains of two other dolmens were still lying here, which have been completely destroyed.

Nearby is the Dolmen du Moulin des Oies .
