Lhomme dolmen

The dolmen of Lhomme (also called dolmen of Maupertuis ) is located near the hamlet of Dauvers, northeast of Lhomme in the Sarthe department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

description

The top stone of the dolmen, which lies over seven vertical bearing stones about one meter high, is 3.5 to 4.0 meters long and 2.5 to 3.0 meters wide. On the south side there is an entrance that allows you to get into the dolmen, which is where the court name Maupertuis comes from. "Pertuis" means "the hole", "the opening" or "the narrow passage" in old French.

The dolmen has been classified as a monument historique since 1984 .
