Wilfried Hoops

Wilfried Hoops (born August 19, 1956 in Bremerhaven ) is a German lawyer , ministerial and political official . Since June 29, 2017, he has been State Secretary in the Ministry for Justice, Europe, Consumer Protection and Equality of the State of Schleswig-Holstein .

Life

education and profession

After graduating from high school and the subsequent military service , Hoops began studying law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel in 1976 . He completed this in 1981 with the first state examination in law at the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court in Schleswig . As a result, he completed his legal clerkship (1982–1985) in the district of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Bremen and passed his second state examination in 1985 at the joint examination office in Hamburg.

In May 1985 Hoops entered the judicial service of the State of Schleswig-Holstein , from 1989 to 1994 he was a judge at the Kiel Regional Court before he moved to the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court and was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court there in 1996. From 1998 to 2010 he was director of the district court of Neumünster . In 2009 and 2010 he was also a permanent judicial member of the Schleswig-Holstein judges' selection committee .

Activity as a lecturer

From 2007 to 2017 he worked with interruptions as a lecturer in the field of agriculture at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences . There he held courses on the subject of agricultural law .

Political activity

In July 2010, Hoops moved to the Ministry of Justice and, as Ministerialdirigent, became head of the Legal and Justice Policy Affairs, Courts and Public Prosecutor's Office in the Ministry of Justice, Equality and Integration of Schleswig-Holstein . In the course of the formation of the Günther cabinet , Wilfried Hoops, who was not part of the party, was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Europe, Consumer Protection and Equality of the State of Schleswig-Holstein on June 29, 2017 at the suggestion of the CDU by Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack . In this function he is also a deputy member of the German-Russian friendship group of the Federal Council .

Private

Hoops is married and has two children.
