Dolmen of Loose

The Loose dolmen is an extended dolmen and is located about 1.6 km north-east of Loose in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein , 50 m west of the B203 . It is a large stone grave with the Sprockhoff no. 58. It originated between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC as a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK).

The chamber

The north-west-south-east oriented chamber is well preserved. All stones are present and are in situ . The long sides consist of two pairs of bearing stones. At the north-western end there is a capping stone, opposite a low entry stone. The chamber is covered with a capstone, its dimensions are 2.4 × 1.9 × 1.3 m. The stones are made of red granite .
