Dolmen of Pajot
The Dolmen of Pajot (also called Mas Pachot , Dolmen de Limogne or Dolmen mas Rolland ) is located in a field southeast of Limogne-en-Quercy , near Villefranche-de-Rouergue in the Lot department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The Pajot dolmen is typical of the Limogne-en-Quercy region, where there are five such dolmens.
The chamber is about 3.5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, with a capstone protruding on all sides, which rests on three supporting stones. The northeast side has partially collapsed. The dolmen was used to store agricultural equipment for decades.
The dolmen has been classified as a monument historique since 1992 .
Nearby is the Dolmen du Lac d'Aurie .
