Dolmen de la Ville Hamon

The Dolmen de la Ville Hamon (also Dolmen of Erquy called) is located east of Erquy in Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The early information on this dolmen comes mainly from the documents held in the regional archeology service in Rennes . The descriptions made since 1880 do not allow the composition of the remains of the dolmen and the mound to be determined. Gaston de la Chenelière believes that the dolmen was never completed. Against this is the fact that an entrance in the south and the division into two chambers is recognized and a stone 2.85 × 2.75 m and a thickness of 0.39 m is halfway there. The material is pink granite .

Only a tangle of stones on a hill is left of the probably very large dolmen with a corridor. A large capstone still rests at an angle on two supporting stones, but the rest is randomly scattered on the ground. The stones cover an area of about 36 m².
