Dolors Batalla i Nogués
Dolors Batalla i Nogués (born April 18, 1969 in Valls ) is a Catalan politician .
She studied Political Science , Sociology and Public Administration at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Essex . From 1999 to 2003 she was a councilor and parliamentary group spokeswoman for the party platform Convergència i Unió in her hometown of Valls in the province of Tarragona . On June 14, 2003, she was elected mayor and re-elected in 2007.
Since July 2004 she has been Deputy General Secretary of the Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya (CDC) party.
Since November 1, 2006, she has been a member of the CiU (Convergència i Unió) in the Catalan Parliament ( Parlament de Catalunya ).
On September 24, 2008, she resigned as mayor of Valls for personal reasons. Previously, the municipal councils of CiU and PSC had agreed to work together against their will.
