Domarring Munkakyrkan
The Domarring Munkakyrkan ( German Richterring Mönchskirche ; RAÄ-Nr. Årstad 57: 1) is an oval stone circle on Hebergsvägen near Årstad in Halland in Sweden . There is a natural stone formation of almost the same name as the 12 m deep Munkkyrkan cave near Yttre Kuseröd in Grebbestad in Bohuslän .
The Domarring is a stone oval of 25 × 13 m consisting of 29 mostly round stones, the number of which is usually 7 or 9. Small bowls were dug into five stones .
Domar rings are prehistoric graves. Studies have shown that the stone circles were built from the pre-Roman Iron Age (500 BC) to the Viking Age (800–1100 AD). They mostly contain one or more simple cremation graves (or fire pits). Some may have had a function in connection with the legal system, as the name refers to.
