Dominick "Quiet Dom" Cirillo (born July 4, 1929 ) is an American mobster and was the head of the Genovese family .

Like Vincent Gigante, Cirillo was a boxer and was also looked after by Thomas Eboli as a manager, through which he found his entry into the criminal milieu of La Cosa Nostra .

He received his first criminal conviction in 1952 for involvement in the illegal drug trade and in the following years was always close to the coming chief Vincent "Chin" Gigante, who replaced Anthony Salerno in 1982 after he had suffered a stroke (Salerno was supposed to be the boss of the Genovese family sentenced to 100 years in prison in 1986).

However, Gigante had to go to prison in 1997. Instead of a successor, a committee was formed which was known as the "Administration" and was headed by Cirillo. With that, Cirillo was the representative in transactions and agreements with the other clans of the Mafia, in particular with the other "families" in New York City .

When Gigante died in December 2005, Cirillo's quiet and calm leadership style had registered the title "Quiet Don" and he has since been seen as the official leader of the Genovese family .

However, a heart attack in 1998 may have weakened his position. Since Dominick Cirillo and 4 other high-ranking Genovese members ( Lawrence “Little Larry” Dentico , John “Johnny Sausage” Barbato , Deniz “Deme” Meissner , Anthony “Tico” Antico ) were sentenced to 46 months in prison on October 18, 2005 , The question of leadership in the Genovese clan arose again when he was arrested on March 3, 2006.

Nicholas Cirillo , his son, was no longer an option; this had already disappeared without a trace on May 9, 2004. His abandoned car was found three weeks later, but there is still no trace of his body. In any case, his father had intended him to succeed him in the Bonanno family and the investigators therefore suspect their head Vincent "Vinny Gorgeous" Basciano and his capo regime Dominick Cicale .

The “acting boss” of the Genovese family is either Mario Gigante , born in 1923, Vincent Gigante's older brother, or Daniel Leo , born in 1941, an inconspicuous gangster who, according to Jerry Capecis Ganglandnews.com, has already held initiation ceremonies in the past for new members.
