Dominik Britsch (born October 21, 1987 in Bad Friedrichshall ) is a German boxer and former IBF Intercontinental Middleweight Champion.

amateur

Dominik Britsch started boxing when he was eight and had his first fights when he was ten. At the age of 16 he boxed in the junior national team and in 2005 won the title of league champion with the Heidelberg boxing relay. As an amateur he won 59 out of 69 fights and was trained by his father Jürgen Britsch at the time.

Professional career

In 2006 he switched to the professional field at the Sauerland boxing stable and boxed there under coach Ulli Wegner until shortly before his contract expired in 2014. His greatest sporting success so far was winning the IBF junior world champion in the middleweight division. March 2009 in his 13th professional fight against the Polish Daniel Urbanski won. He defended this title on October 17, 2009 in a fight against the Belgian Michael Recloux by winning points.

On July 16, 2011, he defeated the American Ryan Davis in Munich with a technical knockout in round 9 and thus won the IBF Intercontinental Championship, which he successfully won against the American William on October 22, 2011 in Ludwigsburg. Billy “Lyell defended.

On 25 February 2012, he punched in Stuttgart to the EU -Titel the EBU middleweight. He reached against his Spanish opponent, the ex-European super middleweight champion Roberto Santos , only a draw, whereby the title remained vacant . In the rematch on September 15, 2012 in Bamberg , Britsch lost to tKo in round 8.

On February 2, 2013, he won against Luis Crespo (8-3) unanimously on points, and on December 14, 2013 by majority decision against Soufiene Ouerghi (5-2). In the rematch against Ouerghi in April 2014, Britsch lost on points.

He is currently being trained by his father Jürgen Britsch.

Britsch grew up in Neckarsulm and graduated from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium there in 2008.

Dominik Britsch supported the social project We Help Africa as the city sponsor of the city of Neckarsulm . Since April 2017 he has been the ambassador of the association "Lolo's Friends - Help for special children" in Leingarten / Heilbronn.
