Dominik Höfel (born January 22, 1987 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player in the position of midfielder . He currently plays for SV Mattersburg in the Bundesliga , the top Austrian division.

Career

youth

Höfel began his career at SV Schwechat , where he was active in various youth teams from 1993 to 1996. In 1996 he moved to the academy of VfB Admira Wacker Mödling , where he stayed for a total of seven years before returning to Schwechat.

Club career

In 2007 he came to the first team of the regional league and was used a total of 30 times. The club was relegated from the Regionalliga Ost to the Viennese league and was able to move up again in the following year with Höfel in midfield. After another season in the Regionalliga, he moved to Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg in 2010 , where he initially worked for the amateurs (in the Regionalliga Ost). In his first season he came to 30 missions and nine hits. These good performances prompted Franz Lederer , coach of the first team, to enable the midfielder to make his debut in the top Austrian division. Höfel came on on May 25, 2011 against SC Wiener Neustadt in the 80th minute for Macedonian Ilco Naumoski . The game in the Pappelstadion ended 1: 1, with Höfel opening the Mattersburg goal.
