Dominik Robin Schmid (born March 10, 1998 in Rheinfelden AG ) is a Swiss football player . He is under contract with FC Basel and was loaned to FC Wil for six months during the winter break of the 2018/19 season.

Career

society

Schmid started playing football at FC Kaiseraugst , but switched to the juniors of FC Basel very early on and went through all the junior levels up to U-21 in 2016. On March 10, 2017, his 19th birthday, he signed his first professional contract until summer 2020 at FC Basel 1893.

He made his debut for the first team of FC Basel on May 28, 2017 in a 3-1 away win against Grasshopper Club Zurich . In January 2018 it was awarded to FC Lausanne-Sport until the end of the season.

International

He had his first international match in Switzerland U-17 on March 3, 2015 against the Bulgarian U-17 as a right outer runner. He played three times for Switzerland U-18s and seven times for Switzerland U-19s in autumn 2016 .

He made his debut for Switzerland U-21 at the Tissot Arena in Biel / Bienne during the 3-0 defeat against the Welsh U-21s in the qualifier for the 2019 U-21 European Football Championship on September 1, 2017.
