Dominik Schneider (born October 30, 1985 in Würzburg ) is a former German basketball player . After his rapid entry into professional basketball with participation in the U20 European Championship in Moscow , Schneider played for several high-ranking German teams. He played his last season in Würzburg in 2014/2015 with the s.Oliver Baskets with promotion to the first national basketball league .
career
Dominik Schneider played as a youth at TSV Wiesentheid in the major league. From there, after graduating from high school in 2005, he was invited to the rookie all-star game of the first national basketball league . Because of his achievements, he was accepted into the U20 national team and took part in the U20 European Championship in Moscow . Then several teams became aware of him and Schneider got the chance to play for TSV Tröster Breitengüßbach, the farm team of Brose Bamberg in the 2nd Bundesliga South in the 2005/2006 season . At the same time he began studying to be a teacher in Bamberg. In 2006 he was named Youngster of the Month for December. In the following season Schneider wore the jersey of Dimplex Falke Nürnberg in the ProA. He stayed in Franconia the following year and played with a double license for Brose Baskets and Franconian Witcher . He was used both in the basketball league and for games in the Eurocup 2008/09 .
Schneider was active in the ProB for the next two years, playing for the s.Oliver Baskets in his hometown of Würzburg and then in the 2010/11 season for the Nuremberg Basketball Club .
Schneider joined the Kirchheim Knights from 2011 to 2013 and helped them achieve promotion to the basketball Bundesliga in 2012 . After the end of the season, Schneider took a year off to take the state examination for teaching and start studying medicine. From 2014 he was signed again by the s.Oliver Baskets and made the promotion to the first basketball league.
Schneider ended his professional career after promotion in 2015 to concentrate on his career as a medical professional.
