Falke Nürnberg is a former basketball team from Nürnberg, which was created by outsourcing the basketball department of the DJK Falke Nürnberg . Under the name SELLBYTEL Baskets Nürnberg , the team was represented in the top German division, the basketball league , from 2005 to 2007 . After relegation, the team became part of the Franken 1st network and thus became a farm team for the former league competitor Brose Baskets from Bamberg. In 2008 the license was transferred to the Franken Hexer .

The greatest sporting success was the promotion to the highest German basketball league, the Bundesliga, in 2005. Despite the sporting descent in 2006, the team was allowed to play again in the 2006/07 season due to a league increase. Management errors and the lack of sporting success, which was reflected in the very small number of spectators in the oversized Nuremberg arena , led to the club's financial collapse. In March 2007 an application for bankruptcy had to be filed. Although the game could be maintained until the end of the season, the sporting descent into the ProA could not be prevented.
By taking over the Franconian rival Brose Baskets , gaming operations in the ProA could be guaranteed. The goal is now the targeted training of young German players. The cooperation is viewed very critically on the Nuremberg fansite, as the club has given up large parts of its independence. The collaboration was initially limited to two years.
In the first half of the 2007/08 ProA season, dimplex Falke Nürnberg was only able to achieve one victory in 15 games. The audience quickly adapted to the course of the season. Despite everything, the cooperation with Bamberg should be continued even in the event of a further decline.
For the 2008/09 season, the license of Falke Nürnberg was transferred to the Franconian witchers , with which Falke Nürnberg expired. All Nuremberg players and coaches from Falke Nürnberg were deleted from the concept and the club no longer exists.
