Dominique Badji (born October 16, 1992 in Dakar , Senegal ) is a Senegalese soccer player who is currently under contract with FC Dallas in Major League Soccer .

Career

youth

After giving birth in Dakar , Senegal , Badji moved first to Tanzania and later to Zimbabwe . Badji decided to emigrate to the USA for his education. He first attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia for two years before going to Boston University . It was there that he began to pursue his footballing career. Badji received numerous awards during his time with the Boston University Terriers. In 2014 he was elected to both the “All Region First Team” and the “Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year”.

Because of his outstanding performance, he was invited to the MLS Combine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2015 . There he impressed above all with his excellent fitness. For example, he covered 30 meters in just 3.98 seconds and completed the “5-10-5 dash” in 4.1 seconds. Badji was the only competitor to get the full 10 points in each discipline that day.

Colorado Rapids

On January 15, 2015 Badji was selected as the 67th player by the Colorado Rapids during the "MLS SuperDrafts" . After convincing the coaches during the pre-season, he signed his first MLS professional contract on March 4th. He scored his first professional goal on April 10 against FC Dallas . Because of his good performance, he was then elected to the team of the week together with his then teammate Dillon Powers .
