Domstürmer is a Cologne dialect - band .

history

The band was founded in Cologne in 2006 and consists of the musicians Micky Nauber (vocals), Stevie Gable (guitar), Alexander Klaus (bass), Hotti Hört (drums) and Rainer Höfer (keyboard). Stevie Gable (ex-member of the band Wanderer) has been guitarist with the band since the turn of the year 2013/2014 and replaced founding member Marcus Maletz. Alexander Klaus has been a member of the band since November 2018. He succeeded Hanz Thodam (ex-member of the groups Hanak and Blootsbröder, member of the group Bläck Fööss since January 2019 ), who had replaced founding member Piddy Kiel on bass on September 1, 2014. Rainer Höfer (formerly a member of Die Kalauer) succeeded keyboardist and founding member Stephan Christ in July 2016.

The most famous songs include Happy Weekend, Do your thing, Meine Liebe, mein Stadt, mein Verein, Naturbeklopp, Hollywood and Ohne Dom, ohne Rhing, ohne Sunnesching.

From 2008 to 2018, up to three times a year the cathedral tower concerts took place in a moving tram operated by the Cologne transport company .

In October 2011 the first album Mach Dein Ding was released. The release of the second studio album Stadt Land Fluß followed in January 2014, from which the title Naturbeklopp appeared as a single in the ongoing carnival session .

In May 2014 a second single followed with the song Minge Wääch . At the same time, the music video for the song appeared, in which athletes with disabilities participate. Including players from the Bundesliga wheelchair basketball club RBC Cologne 99ers , the track and field athlete and junior world champion Philipp Waßenberg and the swimmer and junior world champion Bastian Fontayne. The music video premiered in the German Sport & Olympia Museum in Cologne.

In November 2015 the third album Wellkumme em Klub was released. The day before the album was released, the album was presented live by the band in the Yard Club of the canteen in Cologne.

For the music project Kölsche Heimat - Ahle Schätzje neu lackeet , the cathedral stormers recorded a new version of the Colonia Duett classic De Fleech in 2015 and contributed the song Huhwasser for the 2018 edition Kölsche Heimat - Met Sang un Klang, de Fisch wääde bang .

In December 2018 the first live album of the Domstürmer Altes Pfandhaus Live was released. It is the live recording of a concert evening of a three-day series of concerts by the band with guest musicians in December 2016 in the old pawn shop in Cologne. The recordings were finally mixed on Ozzy Osbourne's former mixer. The release of the album was followed by the release of a complete video concert recording as a premiere on Youtube in spring 2019.

On November 11, 2019, the EP Alles Doof was released with a total of five tracks, including the single of the same name and the titles Övverdosis Jlöck , Ich Danz För Dich (Jo Jo Dat) , Die Zeit and E Deil Vun Dir . The latter is the opening title of the Lachenden Kölnarena in 2020 and was created on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the large series of events that takes place on several dates during the carnival sessions in Cologne's Lanxess Arena. In 2016, the series of events launched its own audience award, which the cathedral strikers received as the first prize winners for their presence with the session hit Ohne Dom, Ohne Rhing, Ohne Sunnesching .
