Colonia duet
The Colonia duet , consisting of Hans Süper jun. (* 1936) and Hans Zimmermann (1920–1994), was a Cologne carnival duet that existed from 1974 to 1990 with this line-up.
Hans Süper jun. is the son of the musician Hans Süper senior , who was a member of the Cologne singing quartet De Vier Botze . This formation called itself outside Cologne and as an accompanying vocal group for other artists also called Colonia Quartet . Süper performed with his "Flitsch" (Cologne name for a mandolin ) and Hans Zimmermann with a guitar , especially at the Cologne Carnival . In addition to common songs, Hans Zimmermann ("Zimmermann") usually acted as a key word for his partner's jokes, which were usually made at his partner's expense: During the performance, Süper always referred to his partner as an "egg", sometimes with quite rough jokes . Around the central swear word "Du Ei", improvised and planned gags, as well as self-made compositions similar to those of morality, were placed around the central swear word and gesture . Zimmermann's designation as an "egg" refers to his balding head. In its successful time, the duo , which appeared in the form of a double conference , made 250 to 300 appearances per year.
In November 1990 the cooperation was ended at the instigation of Hans Süper. He returned to the stage on October 9, 1991 with Werner Keppel as the Süper Duet , but the success was no longer that great. Later on, in contrast to his partner, Süper spoke increasingly Standard German . Hans Zimmermann died in 1994.
For years, the Colonia duet was the highlight of the ARD television session Carnival in Cologne . The WDR repeats the best scenes in the 6-part series Du Ei! At irregular intervals during the carnival session.
