Nanna Simonsen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nanna Simonsen (born December 12, 1956 in Lyngby ) is a Danish cookbook author and television cook. Her book Nannas smørrebrød , which was published by Gyldendal in 2001 , received an award from Det Danske Gastronomiske Akademi in 2003. In addition, Simonsen and Carina Malling Skronski were involved in the 2008 new edition of Frøken Jensen's kogebog , which was published on the occasion of Kristine Marie Jensen's 150th birthday .

She first studied literature, but then switched to studying architecture, where she met Camilla Plum . With her she founded a kind of catering service. Since neither of them had any culinary training, they learned the necessary basics through self-study and called themselves kogekoner , in reference to the profession of traveling cooks . Together they wrote the cookbook Emma Gad - Vi gider ikke , which has been reprinted several times and is one of the best-selling cookbooks in Denmark.

Simonsen did not finish her architecture studies and instead cooked for Danish, Swedish and Norwegian film crews, e.g. B. when filming Pelle the Conqueror . This professional contact with the world of film sparked her interest in training as a screenwriter, which she also completed, but has never worked as a screenwriter so far. So far she has written more than a dozen cookbooks, has had several television programs , for example Mad og Herregårde on TV 2 , and the radio program Nannas Køkken on P1 , and writes, for example, a regular food column in the Sunday edition of Berlingske and in Mad og Bolig .

Simonsen is married to Ole Knudsen.
