Don Alden Adams (* 1925 in Oak Park , Illinois ) was President of the Watchtower Society , a legal entity of Jehovah's Witnesses , from 2000 to 2014 . In contrast to his predecessors, Adams was not a member of the “Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses” and thus did not exercise a religious leadership function, but a purely administrative task. He is little known even among Jehovah's Witnesses.

Life

Adams grew up in an extended family whose roots were in the American Episcopal Church . But Adam's mother, like his father later, studied the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses . Thus her children also came into contact with teaching. Adams joined the movement, became a preacher, and began proselytizing . In 2000 he became the 7th President of the Watchtower Society.
