Don C. Hoefler

Donald C. Hoefler (born October 3, 1922 in Michigan ; † April 15, 1986 in San Francisco ) was an American journalist who coined the term " Silicon Valley " and became known through it. In 1971 he wrote a series of articles in Electronic News magazine entitled Silicon Valley, USA , in which he described the rapid growth of high technology companies in the former agricultural region of Santa Clara .
