The Donauparkstadion is a football stadium in the harbor district of the Lustenau district of the Austrian city of Linz . It is located at the northeastern end of the southern Linz Danube promenade, the Danube Park, after which it is named.

history

The stadium was named Tobacco Sports Field after its construction and was renamed Donauparkstadion on August 1, 1997. It has 2,000 seats, of which about 400 are seats. Until FC Blau-Weiß Linz was promoted to the first division in 2011, the Donauparkstadion served as their home ground. Since then it has been used as a training facility for the first team and as a venue for the club's amateur team.

FC Blau-Weiß Linz will return from the Linz stadium to the Donauparkstadion. The LASK receives, following the demise of the new stadium, the sole right for the Linzer Stadium and grants blue and white three-year transition period. Before the move, the stadium in the Donaupark is to be renovated and in future it will offer space for 4,000 to 6,000 spectators. The system on the banks of the Danube is to be turned in a north-south direction and thus aligned parallel to the new Linz Danube Bridge , the construction of which began in January 2019. A furniture store is to be built next to the Donauparkstadion . Both projects are to be linked. The state of Upper Austria will support the project financially.
