Doogie White

Doogie White (born March 7, 1960 in Motherwell / Scotland ) is a rock singer in the genre “melodic classic hard rock ”. He is currently singing for Michael Schenker and Demon's Eye, among others .

Career

Doogie White began in the 80s as a singer in the English bands Tryxter and La Paz . The latter is still active at irregular intervals and with a fluctuating line-up and released the current album Shut up and Rawk in 2016 . The groups Midnight Blue , Chain , Sack Trick and Praying Mantis followed .

His international breakthrough came when Ritchie Blackmore brought him to Rainbow as a singer in the mid-1990s . Since Doogie White not only met the expectations of Ritchie Blackmore, but exceeded them by far, Rainbow went on a three-year world tour with Doogie. The reasons behind Doogie White and Ritchie Blackmore's split in 1997 are still unknown to this day. On the Rainbow DVD “The ultimate review”, Doogie White, among others, goes into details of this period.

The Danish guitarist Steen Mogensen (ex- Royal Hunt ) became aware of Doogie White and contacted him. From the following collaboration, Cornerstone was born in 2000. Cornerstone went on a European tour in January and February 2005, and also in April 2007. A new album entitled "Two tales of one tomorrow" was released in February 2007.

Doogie White was also the singer of Rising Force , the band of the Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen . So far two albums with this line-up have been released; tours through Europe (2003) and the USA, Canada and Japan (2005/2006) followed; Another world tour took place in November and December 2006 and 2007. Another album with Malmsteen / White is in the making. In February 2008 he announced his exit from the combo.

Another guitarist worked with Doogie White as a singer - the German-born Bill Liesegang ; a joint album was created in 2004.

In 2008 Doogie White joined the NWOBHM band TANK and recorded the album "War Machine" with them.

In November 2008 he sang for two concerts with the group Demon's Eye , and on May 31, 2009 he spontaneously stepped in for Glenn Hughes, who had bronchitis and was supposed to be on stage with Demon's Eye that evening. Doogie White now appears regularly with Demon's Eye and has sung two albums for this band, The Stranger Within (2011) and Under The Neon (2015).

In 2009 he re-recorded their album "El Reino Olvidado", which was released in the previous year, with the Argentine band Rata Blanca under the title "The Forgotten Kingdom" and performed with the band in Europe in 2010.

On the national holiday, June 23, 2010, in Luxembourg, Doogie White performed together with Jon Lord (ex Deep Purple) at an open air concert in the city center. In March 2011 Demon's Eye released the album "The Stranger Within" , on which Doogie White took over the vocals.
