doppler Austria E. doppler & Co GmbH (short: Doppler ) is an Upper Austrian manufacturer of umbrellas and parasols from Ranshofen ( Braunau am Inn ). The company is considered "Europe's number one for the manufacture of umbrellas".

The Doppler factory in Ranshofen, built in 1999, is Europe's largest umbrella factory; The company also has branches at five locations in Europe and one location in Asia . The Doppler company has a turnover of around 50 million euros and employs around 300 people. 160 employees work in the factory in Austria and in 2015 18,000 umbrellas were produced. In addition, up to 20,000 umbrellas are repaired every year. The individual parts for the umbrellas have been produced in Hong Kong since 1990 . In Austria only the final production of many models is carried out. Every year 4 million umbrellas and 1 million parasols are produced. In October 2005, Doppler took over the Knirps brand , of which 500,000 umbrellas were sold worldwide in 2015. The company thus owns the two best-known European umbrella brands.
