Doreet LeVitte-Harten

Doreet LeVitte-Harten (* 1948 in Israel ) is an Israeli art historian and curator who lives in Berlin.

Life

Doreet LeVitte-Harten's grandfathers came from Russia; one was a rabbi there , studied Immanuel Kant and learned German for it. He eventually became a Steinerian and emigrated to Palestine . LeVitte Harten studied art history and comparative religion at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem . From 1978 to 1980 she worked as a journalist and art critic for the Ha'aretz Newspaper. From 1977 to 1980 she taught art history at the Beer Sheva Visual Center. Since 1980 she has worked as a curator both in Germany and in Israel.

She has been married to Jürgen Harten since 1980 and lives in Berlin .
