Dorf im Bohnental is a district of the community Schmelz in the Saarland district of Saarlouis . It is the northernmost and with an area of 218 hectares the smallest district of the municipality. 316 inhabitants live in it (as of March 31, 2010).

The place is in the Bohnental on the connecting road between Limbach and Lindscheid .

history

Dorf was first mentioned in documents in 1282, when the noble servant Nikolaus von Waderellen sold his inheritance to the noble servant Ludevic von Tholeya. Until the French Revolution, the place was under the rule of Dagstuhl .

Between 1953 and 1957 the Josefskirche was built with the help of the residents. It is a branch of the parish of St. Willibrord in Limbach.

On January 1, 1974, the municipality of Dorf was incorporated into the municipality of Schmelz.
