The Protestant village church in Alt Rehse is a listed church building in Alt Rehse , a district of the city of Penzlin in the Mecklenburg Lake District in ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). The building replaces a previous church.

History and architecture

In 1182, Duke Bogislav from Pomerania confirmed the possessions of the Premonstratensian monastery Broda, to which the village of Reze (Rehse) also belonged. Alt Rehse was also a parish village for Krukow and Mallin from 1594 to 1960 .

The neo-Gothic hall church closes on three sides to the east. It stands on a rectangular floor plan and was built from hewn field stones. From 1883 to 1893 (another source gives the construction period 1889 to 1893) it was built from field and brick. The outer walls are divided by several pillars and high arched windows with brick frames. The ogival entrance portal is located in a multi-tiered brick wall. A flat ceiling has been drawn into the interior and the room has been restored. The brick lining in the altar area is remarkable. On the right is the open patronage box for the von Hauff family. The upper floor of the attached west tower is built in half-timbered houses. A heated winter church also belongs to the building .

Furnishing

  • The neo-Gothic wooden furnishings come mainly from the construction period.
  • In the middle of the altar with altar barrier is a modern painting on the subject of peace, justice and the integrity of creation . Mrs. Krug painted it in 1992; it shows a double triangle, a dove, a crown and a vine.
  • The baptismal font is decorated with wooden ornaments.
  • The base of the simple pulpit is painted white, the pulpit has no sound cover.

Bells

Two bells hang in the tower; they were cast in the 14th and 15th centuries.
