Village church

The Protestant village church of Brahmenau is located in Groitschen in the Brahmenau community in the Greiz district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish of Pölzig, Dorna, Röpsen and Roschütz in the Gera parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The previous church burned down before the Reformation . It was demolished in 1783, and the baroque village church was rebuilt between 1785 and 1788 . The inauguration took place on the 1st of Advent 1786 .

In 1824 the organ building company Poppe built the organ .

In 1990 a community of interests was formed in the village to maintain the village church.

In 2008 the church received recognition for creating habitat for jackdaws and bats .
