The church

The Evangelical-Lutheran village church Dobitschen is located in the Dobitschen community in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .

history

The appearance of this church, which resembles a moated castle , was created in the 18th century. A knight by the name of Dobitschen built a chapel on the site of the church around 1200 . She had to make way for the church .

Today's village church with a simple rectangular floor plan and a sacristy extension in the east was built in 1702. On the high hipped roof is the octagonal roof turret and on top of it the tail dome.

The interior of the church has a simple but festive flat ceiling. Below is the gallery . The organ is mounted on the east side above the pulpit . The six-armed chandelier with ball knobs and a crowned knight figure is striking .
