The village church Eichenberg is in Eichenberg in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Orlamünde in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In 1062 and also in 1194 the village was officially confirmed in Orlamünder parish documents by the Archbishop of Mainz . Traces of that time can be found in the substance of the choir and the lower nave . The pulpit altar with flower ornaments and carved tendrils and from 1691 the flat wooden ceiling date from the 17th century .

An organ acquired in 1705 was torn down in 1875 and replaced by a Gerhard organ . In 1787 the big bell and the small bell were bought. The little bell survived the Second World War in the bell cemetery , from where it was picked up again after the war.

In 1986 the church was in such a desolate condition that there was a risk of collapse. In 1999 the roof repairs began and in 2005 the interior work was carried out. In 2009 the facade renovation completed the overall renovation.
