Location of the municipality Eichenberg in the Saale-Holzland district | ||
Eichenberg is a municipality in the south of the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia and part of the administrative community of the southern Saale valley . The community Eichenberg consists of the villages Eichenberg, Dienstädt , Kleinbucha and the outlying district of Dehnamühle.
history
The place Eichenberg, located on a high plateau of the Ilm-Saale-Platte , was first mentioned in a document in 1083/84.
The old roads that came from the north and north-west and crossed the Saale near Großeutersdorf once ran through Eichenberg . The existence of the roads at that time was probably the reason for the importance of the high plateau. Settler sites and burial mounds were found in the grove of the plateau.
There has been a manor in the village since the late Middle Ages . In 1923 Emil Schleip was the tenant of the 307 hectare estate. According to the development in the Soviet zone , the operation was transferred to new farmers and resettlers after the Second World War.
