Rauschwitz is a municipality in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . The fulfilling municipality is the district town of Eisenberg .
geography
The municipality of Rauschwitz is located in the north of the district. The state road L 1070, which connects Hermsdorf with Camburg , runs through the town .
Nearby villages are Karsdorfberg and Mertendorf in the north, Pretschwitz in the east, Nischwitz and Göritzberg in the southwest and Schmörschwitz in the west. Around the village, far beyond the neighboring towns, there are agricultural areas.
history
Rauschwitz was first mentioned in a document in 1230.

- Schmörschwitz (1145)
Rauschwitz and its districts belonged to the fiefdom of the Bürgel Abbey . The corridor of the former village of Wilkensdorf was divided between the communities Döllschütz and Rauschwitz.
Later, the places belonged to the Wettin district office of Eisenberg , which was under the sovereignty of various Ernestine duchies due to several divisions in the course of its existence . In 1826 the places with the southern part of the Eisenberg district office and the city of Eisenberg came from the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxe-Altenburg . From 1920 they belonged to the Free State of Thuringia.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities of Karsdorfberg, Pretschwitz and Schmörschwitz were incorporated.

There have been three wind turbines in Rauschwitz since 2003, namely two Nordex S77 systems with a nominal output of 1500 kW, a hub height of 100 m and a rotor diameter of 77 m, as well as a GE 1.5sl system with a nominal output of 1500 kW, a hub height of 96 m and 77 m Rotor diameter.
Wood art
The wood artist Christian Schmidt from Rauschwitz has been inviting colleagues to international chainsaw symposia in his community since 2016. The sculpture by Ricardo Villacis from Ecuador stands at the village pond.
