Serba is a municipality in the east of the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . The fulfilling municipality is Bad Klosterlausnitz . In addition to Serba, there are also the districts Injekt and Klengel .

Serba is located east of the city of Bürgel and directly west of the federal highway 9 and on the federal highway 7 Jena to Eisenberg. The local area is surrounded by forest to the west, east and south.
history
Serba is a purely Sorbian foundation and looks back on over 800 years of history. The numerous three and four-sided courtyards and the manor in Klengel, which has been preserved in its original form, still bear witness to this today. In addition to agriculture, handicrafts gradually gained more and more importance. B. the stove and fireplace construction, the building and carpentry trade, as well as the butchery and bakery trade. A brisk fish trade developed due to the numerous bodies of water surrounding the place. Today village life is characterized by lively club activity, the center of which is the “Weißer Hirsch” clubhouse with its hall and bowling alley, which was renovated in 2003/2004.
Serba was first mentioned in a document on February 16, 1330. The first documentary mention of the district of defense was in 1833 and the district of Klengel in 1267. Serba belonged to the Wettin district office of Eisenberg , which was under the sovereignty of various Ernestine duchies due to several divisions during its existence . In 1826 the place came with the southern part of the Eisenberg district office and the city of Eisenberg from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . From 1920 he belonged to the Free State of Thuringia.
In 1905 the Eisenberg – Porstendorf extension of the Crossen an der Elster – Porstendorf railway line was opened. Serba thus received a train station, which was closed in the late 1960s when the line was closed.
Attractions
The source area of the Wethau is located in the spring basin north of the guest house to the three billy goats . One of these parcels is called Teufelswiese. The name of the inn and the meadow indicate a pre-Christian cult site. A private railway museum is located in Dorfstrasse 36 .
