Geisenhain is a municipality in the south of the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia and part of the Hügelland / Täler administrative community .
history
Geisenhain was first mentioned in a document in 1406.
Attractions
In Geisenhain is a historic, from brick masonry Pechofen . It was used for Pechsiederei until 1927, the last trial fire took place in 1934. In the post-war period, the stove was restored and roofed over. As a ground monument , it is under the protection and supervision of the Museum of Prehistory and Early History of Thuringia .
