Location of the community of Kleinebersdorf in the Saale-Holzland district | ||
Kleinebersdorf is a municipality in the southeast of the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia and part of the Hügelland / Täler administrative community .
geography
The community is located on the southern edge of the Thuringian woodland about 20 km southwest of Gera . The federal motorway 9 runs east of Kleinebersdorf with the Hermsdorf-Süd junction about 10 km away and the Lederhose junction about 3 km (newly opened since April 2009) .
The place is traversed by the Roda , which led to occasional floods. For example in 1969. To avoid this as much as possible, the brook bank was paved and the brook bed deepened from 1972 at a cost of 750,000 marks. This paid off during the floods in 2001, when the stream swelled considerably, but hardly overflowed its banks in the local area.
history
Kleinebersdorf was founded around 1100 by settlers from Main Franconia . The first documentary mention of the place as "Eberhardisdorf" took place in a loan book in 1349/50 .
In 1905 a dairy opened in the Holzland municipality, which was the most important business in the municipality until it was closed for reasons of profitability in 1992. Due to insufficient occupancy, the kindergarten, which had been in existence since 1939, had to close down. Most of the linden trees , which had influenced the townscape for decades, fell victim to a storm in July 2002. Today there are still some local craft businesses.
Village church
The church in the village ( location → ) is the most important sight of the place. The Romanesque building ( nave , choir square and apse ) is "easted" in the tradition of Christian church building, that is, it was built in an east-west direction, with the chancel in the east of the church in the tower. It has a retracted, transversely rectangular choir tower with an apse. The basement of the tower contains parts from this period. The two upper tower floors were probably built in 1688 in half-timbered construction and faced with slate to protect against the effects of the weather and enemy attacks . The tower has a hipped roof that is also slate . The roof is crowned by two lanterns at the ends of the gable and a weather vane each . The current shape of the nave is from 1884. The tower stands in the middle on the short east side of the rectangular nave. The roof of the nave ends as a crooked hip roof and is tiled .
At the time of the tower renovation and renovation of the nave (around 1688), the church received most of the furnishings that are still in existence today, as can be seen from an inscription in the choir room. The two long sides of the three-sided gallery carry paintings in the parapet fields in a rural style: in the south flower and fruit containers, in the north musicians. On the south side of the passage from the nave to the chancel ("triumphal arch") is the pulpit with the popular representation of the four evangelists. The winged altar is probably from around 1500 from a workshop in Saalfeld. In the middle shrine you can see Mary with child, Katharina and Barbara, on the wings the Annunciation and the birth of Jesus as well as the adoration of the kings are painted. The altar was restored in 1993. An old baptismal font from 1678 stands between the altar and the triumphal arch. The pews in the church are plain and white, which underlines the bright impression of the interior of the church. The organ in the gallery is from 1888.
After extensive renovation, the church was rededicated on October 25, 1992.
The church is surrounded by a beautiful, almost circular cemetery with a cemetery wall. The world famous ornithologist Christian Ludwig Brehm and father of the creator of " Brehms Tierleben " worked as a pastor in Ober- and Unterrenthendorf, in Hellborn (today combined in the municipality of Renthendorf ) and Kleinebersdorf. The parishes called him the "bird pastor".
The parish belongs to the parish Renthendorf.
