Hellborn is a district of the municipality Renthendorf in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

geography

Hellborn is 330 m above sea level. NHN in a side valley of the Roda . The outskirts of the district through which the district road 114 leads is heavily cropped . The Lederhose (Thuringia) junction of the Federal Motorway 9 is 2 km east of the town center .

history

The earliest documented mention of the place is for the year 1400.

In 1825 the Hellborn village church was rebuilt.

While only a few peasant part-time businesses still exist today, the primary line of business was agriculture, as in the centuries before, during the Soviet Zone and GDR times, but now associated with expropriations and forced collectivization . From the legacy of the LPG , the agricultural cooperative Ottendorf eG still uses a technical base and a stable.

On May 7, 1990 Hellborn was incorporated into the municipality of Renthendorf.

In the district there is a motorcycle workshop for motocross .
