Bibra is a municipality in the south of the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia and part of the southern Saale valley administrative community .
geography
Bibra is 191 m above sea level. NN , three kilometers west of the city of Kahla . The 4.38 km² large municipal area includes a section of the ecologically important Reinstädter Grund . The district of Zwabitz, north of the main town Bibra, belongs to the community .
history
Bibra was first mentioned in a document in 1337 as "Bibera".
The area changed in the 1970s when the formerly independent community of Zwabitz was incorporated into Bibra.
Attractions
The Evangelical Church of St. Paul is the oldest building in the village.
Half-timbered houses shape the townscape in the center of the two districts Bibra and Zwabitz. A central sight should also be the nature of the municipality, which is dominated by the scenic and ecologically valuable Reinstädter Grund. The use of the Reinstädter Grund for tourism is aimed at within the framework of "soft tourism".
