Despite is a part of the municipality Serba in the Saale-Holzland-Kreis in Thuringia .
geography
The village Defens is located on the northern edge of the Thuringian wood country . After an arable area, the Tautenburger forest follows north of the village. 10 km to the east you reach the district town of Eisenberg and shortly before that there is the junction to the federal motorway 9 , which can be reached with the federal road 7 . In spite of this, this main road crosses with the state road 1070 Stadtroda - Camburg . To the west, the city of Jena is reached after 15 km .
history
The first documentary mention of Defiance was not carried out and archived until 1833. The place was and is characterized by agriculture.
