Thuringian Federation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Thüringer Landbund (ThLB) was a federal state in the German state of Thuringia that existed between 1920 and 1933. During this time he always sent delegates to the Thuringian state parliament . There he worked closely with the DNVP , with which he also formed some government coalitions. The Thuringian Landbund was a member organization in the Reichs-Landbund , the largest German farmers' association with a conservative, anti-democratic orientation.

The Thuringian Landbund was ideologically a nationalist - conservative peasant party . His voters were mainly farmers from all parts of what was then Thuringia. As a result, it was very strong in rural regions, but almost not represented in cities. The best-known politician of the Thuringian Federation was Erwin Baum , who, as chairman of the State Ministry, led the first coalition government in which the NSDAP was involved ( Baum-Frick government ).
