Pretschwitz is a district of the municipality of Rauschwitz in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

geography

Between the Tautenburger forest and the wooded hills around Tbodla and Petersberg lies an arable area that monks and farmers and Sorbs once made arable. The hamlets of Pretschwitz, Döllschütz and Aubitz are located in a small erosion channel and were spread out over the years for operational reasons. Today they are well connected in terms of traffic through other technologies and road conditions. The federal highway 9 with connection at Eisenberg leads directly past. The federal road 7 touches the district of the hamlet south. The state road 1070 leads west through the district . The Wethau stream coming from Hohendorf also has its course here.

history

The first documentary mention of the hamlet took place in September 1230. Pretschwitz belonged to the Wettin district office of Eisenberg , which, due to several divisions during its existence, was under the sovereignty of various Ernestine duchies . In 1826 the place came with the southern part of the Eisenberg district office and the city of Eisenberg from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . From 1920 he belonged to the Free State of Thuringia.

The farms also followed the East German route and found new structures after German reunification . The Abtei agricultural cooperative cultivates the fields. In Pretschwitz there is a riding stables with 40 horses. The equestrian sports club Pretschwitz was founded in 1993 and owns a racing track where tournaments take place.
