Village church in Empfertshausen
The Evangelical Lutheran village church in Empfertshausen is in the community of Empfertshausen in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .
Architecture and equipment
The village church is built of stones. The only features are the cranked frames on the windows. The tower , which was only built in 1776, stands on the east side and is an octagonal roof turret made of timber framework with a lantern , which is surrounded by a French dome . At the top is the weather vane with a button and the year 1719.
Inside there are two galleries decorated with fretwork . The chancel is separated from the main room by the triumphal arch . The organ gallery is also located there . The donated cross hangs gracefully over the altar.
history
The church was built in 1719 under the Fulda abbot Konstantin von Buttlar . That is why his coat of arms is on the stone relief diagonally above the door on the south side.
In 1992 the roof was covered . The installation of a bench heater was implemented. In 2001 the west gable wall was plastered.
From July 1, 1999, the parishes Empfertshausen and Neidhartshausen were merged.
