Friedelshausen village church
The Evangelical Lutheran village church Friedelshausen stands on a small hill in the community Friedelshausen in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thuringia .
history
The church is believed to have stood as early as the 13th century. The church received its current appearance in 1602. It has a cross vault in the sanctuary and in the sacristy , two Gothic-arch windows with tracery , gothic pews with carved heads in the sanctuary and a sacrament niche in the sacristy. These things point to the previous building. In the chancel there is a carved altar cross from the 15th century. The church probably received its first organ in 1610. It was rebuilt several times.
The restoration after 1990
The organ was rebuilt to the state of 1699 and got its old sound back.
Since then, this church has had a special atmosphere that every visitor can feel.
