The village church Göbel is the church of the village Göbel in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the parish of Loburg in the Elbe-Fläming parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

It is located near the eastern exit of the village, on the south side of August-Bebel-Straße.

Architecture and history

The small stone church was built in 1730. It has no steeple, but originally had a roof turret with a baroque hood. The roof turret was removed in the 20th century when the church was renovated. The ground plan of the church building is rectangular. An originally existing plastering was removed at the beginning of the 21st century. The church is accessed via a portal framed by pilasters on the west side. There is a triangular gable with a cartridge above the portal. The monogram of the builder LF von Thümen, who died in 1748, can be seen in the cartridge . His gravestone with a relief figure is on the south wall. The building is covered with a gable roof that was still built during the construction period .

The interior of the church is spanned by a flat wooden ceiling. It is decorated with a painted cloudy sky. The wooden pulpit is decorated with floral motifs and was probably originally part of a pulpit altar.

On the south wall of the church, next to the builder's tombstone, there is the tombstone with a bust of Johann Friederich von Thümen, who died in 1758. Below the bust is an inscription cartouche framed by clouds. As a counterpart to this tombstone there is an epitaph on the north side of the landowner Fritz Dänhardt, who died in 1915, as well as a commemorative plaque commemorating the fallen of the First World War .

In the register of monuments of the city of Möckern , the church is registered as an architectural monument with registration number 094 41372.
