The village church Hohenerxleben is a church of the Evangelical Church of Anhalt in the district Hohenerxleben belonging to the city of Staßfurt in Saxony-Anhalt .

The parish belongs to the parish of Bernburg.

location

The church is located on the northern edge of the village, high on the right bank of the Bode flowing north to the north . A little further to the east is Hohenerxleben Castle .

Architecture and history

The simply designed church was built according to a building inscription in 1802. To the west of the nave, which was built on a rectangular floor plan, is the church tower, which was built in 1718 on a square floor plan.

The interior of the church is spanned by a flat ceiling. There is a three-sided gallery in the nave and a patronage box on the south side. The sandstone baptism with a hexagonal basin dates from the middle of the 17th century. Angel figures and scenic reliefs can be found on the basin as decorations.

The figural, very vividly designed tombstones for Catharina von Krosigk, who died in 1620, and her husband, Gebhard Friedrich von Krosigk, who died in 1630, are remarkable . On the south side of the church there is a war memorial for those who fell in the First World War . In addition, is with a cross and the inscription loyalty to loyalty of the Second World War meant.
