Gebhard Friedrich von Krosigk (1579–1630)

Gebhard Friedrich von Krosigk (born  April 12, 1579 in Beesen , †  January 18, 1630 in Hohenerxleben ) was the heir to Hohenerxleben, Merbitz and Rathmannsdorf and a member of the Anhalt State Committee .

Life

Gebhard Friedrich von Krosigk came from the noble family Krosigk . He was a son of Vollrad von Krosigk († 1597) and his wife Sophie, born von Alvensleben († 1625). Vollrad von Krosigk († 1626) was his older brother.

After attending school in Halle , he went to the University of Helmstedt in 1595 and to the University of Wittenberg in 1598 . In 1602 he went on an educational trip to Poland . Around 1602/1603 he took part in the Long Turkish War in Hungary and did military service in the Netherlands in 1604 . A trip to England and France followed . In 1606 he traveled to Italy and in 1607 attended the University of Siena .

In 1608 he married Catharina, born von Veltheim († 1620). From this marriage, Vollrad von Krosigk (1612–1660) and Matthias von Krosigk (1616–1697) emerged.

In 1623 he married Brigitta, née von Behr (1603–1667). From this marriage came Jakob Anton von Krosigk (1624–1704), Ludolf Lorenz von Krosigk (1627–1673) and Bertha Sophie von Krosigk (1631–1686; ⚭ Johann August von der Asseburg ).

In 1623 he was accepted into the Fruitful Society under the company name of the Well Covered .

Gebhard Friedrich von Krosigk was buried at the village church Hohenerxleben .
