from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vollrad (also: Volrad, Volrath, Vollrath ) von Krosigk (*  1577 ; †  July 1, 1626 in Beesen ) was the heir to Poplitz , Beesen, Laublingen , Gröna , Plötzkau and Neu-Asseburg .

Life

Vollrad von Krosigk came from the noble family Krosigk . He was the eldest son of Vollrad von Krosigk († 1597) and his wife Sophie, born von Alvensleben († 1625). Gebhard Friedrich von Krosigk († 1630) was his younger brother.

On the Beesen family estate, he and his brothers were tutored by private tutors. After attending several schools, he went on a tour of his class until 1597 , which took him to Denmark as well as other European countries , where he witnessed the coronation of Christian IV in 1596 . After the death of his father in 1597, he took over the management of the Beesen and Neu-Asseburg estates. In 1612 he bought the goods Poplitz and Laublingen for 47,000 thalers from his cousin Heinrich von Krosigk (1578–1623), Lord of Alsleben and also a great-grandson of Lorenz von Krosigk († 1534). While his homeland was threatened by the Thirty Years' War in the 1620s , he and his family fled first to Eisleben and finally to Merseburg .

In 1606 he married Ilse von der Schulenburg († December 21, 1627). From this marriage, Vollrad Ludolf von Krosigk (1620–1671) and Sophie von Krosigk († 1688, ⚭ Werner Schenk von Flechtingen) emerged.
