The village church Käcklitz is a Protestant church in the village Käcklitz in Saxony-Anhalt . The community belongs to the parish Beetzendorf in the parish of Salzwedel of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The church is located in the center of the circular village of Käcklitz.

History and architecture

The core of the stone church probably goes back to the Middle Ages . The east end of the nave is semicircular and was probably built in the Baroque era . On the west side of the aisle are into the framework construction erected roof turret with a square base. The church was restored in the 19th century.

The interior of the church is covered with a flat ceiling. On the west side there is a gallery from 1673. It was restored in 1930. The altarpiece with a painting of the Crucifixion framed by columns dates from 1705. The wooden pulpit is inscribed by Christoffel Wünterlich from 1660. The paintings by Melanchton and Luther on the panels were created during the 1930 restoration.

In the local register of monuments , the church is registered as an architectural monument under registration number 094 90305.
