Käcklitz is a district of the municipality of Beetzendorf in the Verbandsgemeinde Beetzendorf-Diesdorf in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark Käcklitz is away from major traffic routes about 3 kilometers north of Beetzendorf and 15 kilometers south of Salzwedel . In the south rises the approximately 52 meter high Lerchenberg. It is bordered by Audorf to the west, Groß Gischau to the north , Stapen to the east and Siedengrieben to the south .

The FFH area “Moorweide bei Stapen” begins in the north of Käcklitz.

history

The place was created as a Slavic Rundling ( Rundplatzdorf ) with a church on the square. The first documentary mention as Kakelitz took place in 1348, when Margrave Ludwig II of Brandenburg left the von der Schulenburgs with the Beden from various villages.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, Käcklitz was incorporated into the municipality of Beetzendorf from the Salzwedel district and has been a district ever since.

The character as a round village has largely been preserved. Access is from the south.

The Protestant parish Käcklitz belonged to the parish of Beetzendorf. Today it belongs to the parish area Beetzendorf the church district Salzwedel in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
