location

The church is located east of the Saale at the foot of the western slopes of the mountain of the Leuchtenburg towards Hummelshain .

history

In 1529 the parish was named Löbschütz. Apparently there was a church in the place at that time. For a long time Löbschütz and Lindig formed their own parish . In 1922 the independent pastorate was abolished; both places came to the parish of Kahla. <

description

This church was originally a Gothic building. After changes during various renovations, the pointed arched windows on the east and north side of the choir , the pointed arched doors on the west and north side and the outer plinth structure were still present. In 1571 and 1621, the wall surrounding the church and cemetery was renewed. During a renovation in 1904, the Gothic state was restored with the incorporation of new findings. The interior design, the glass windows and the fittings in the organ's prospect also date from this period .
